Corporate social responsibility
For the past years we’ve hired a steady stream of interns and graduation interns here in Grootegast. Participating in the further education of coming generations within Groningen allows us to give back to our environment. With some of our personnel still being relatively young themselves we know how difficult it can be to find a suitable graduation project. Coupled with the fact that many students are still very unsure on the jobs or directions they want to take after their graduation, lead us to our decision to actively participate in educational projects. Seperate from the CSR angle it also brings some fresh and unique insights. Getting the unorthodox views and observations of students is always a welcome surprise and has on occasion lead to large internal changes.
Welcoming our newest graduation students
Per February we welcomed two new graduation interns (and one lab intern, who we’ll introduce in march!), and have asked both of them to perform a market survey for us. It never hurts to see their findings related to the LPF brand, how we compare to other packaging suppliers and what improvements our customers are most interested in. We’ll be anxiously watching their progress and cannot to see the finished product. For now we’d just like to wish them good luck and warn the outside world: our interns are coming for you!
Our current graduation interns are from the Hanzehogeschool Groningen. While we occasionally work together with different universities, we are very happy with our partnership with the Hanze. As an added plus it also allows us to give back to our own state (Groningen). Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen is the largest technical & vocational university in the northern Netherlands and is located in Groningen. Hanze UAS offers various Bachelor and Master programmes in Dutch, English, and German, and works closely with international partner institutes. The school counts approximately 25,000 students and 2,700 employees. Visit their website to learn more about the Hanze.
